2014-2015 Honor Fund
The Minnesota Independent School Forum is pleased to share with you how your support is touching the lives of kids, and we invite you to be part of the 2015 MISF Honor Fund by making your donation today. Your support helps offer valuable services to our member schools and provides a public voice for all independent schools. Currently, MISF’s membership consists of 159 K-12 private and independent schools serving 33,309 students. This is an increase of 1,809 students this year.
Here are examples of how donor support is making an impact:
- MISF provided 6 professional advancement workshops to date this year in development, admissions, marketing and technology with 245 school staff and administrators in attendance. Two additional workshops are scheduled. These workshops are free to member schools.
- Seventy-five school leaders, principals, and administrators from 57 member schools across Minnesota, along with a number of presenters and sponsors, attended the 2014 MISF School Head Retreat at Cragun’s Resort in Brainerd. Topics included employment law, new trends in K-12 education, the connection of education and economics and “new” strategic planning. The Retreat offered attendees the opportunity to network, share ideas and problem solve with their peers.
- MISF provided inspiration, financial support and professional development opportunities through the MISF STEM Program. The 2014 Seminar had record breaking attendance with 221 educators. MISF awarded nearly $114,000 in STEM grants to 22 member schools at our Education Awards event on April 26.
- MISF represents the 451 independent schools in the state serving 67,500 students, as we continue our advocacy efforts among legislators and policymakers. MISF joined a diverse coalition to bring about enhanced parental choice opportunities for families in Minnesota. This coalition, Opportunity for All Kids (OAK), is a joint effort of MISF, Lutheran Church Missouri Synod - Minnesota Districts, Center of the American Experiment, and Minnesota Catholic Conference. Our coalition looks to work with elected officials to bring about an enriched knowledge and awareness on greater choice opportunities for students and families in Minnesota.
Please carefully consider how your gift to the 2015 MISF Honor Fund will make a difference to thousands of kids attending independent schools throughout Minnesota.
